Chinese New Year has been hot hot hot hot hot! *sizzles*
The weather's been punishingly hot and the last thing ever is to find me outside in the outdoors. But in the great outdoors I went today! Impressed or not?

Actually, Jas wanted to go take pictures of some trees, leaves and streams etc so Abe and I tagged along for the heck of it. I was a little skeptical when Jas said to reach there at 10 a.m. - like, isn't it going to be hot? Like really, hot hot hot?

Jas, checking out the weather. We got there around 10 a.m. and it was already starting to get a little warm but surprisingly, when we went towards the waterfall area, it got cooler.

Oh and what is a little outing without food. We chanced to see this burger stall (actually, it was the ONLY burger stall) there and stopped to buy a burger each to bring with us).
The entrance to the waterfall has this cute little bridge that you need to walk across to start the 'trail to the waterfall' *jeng jeng jenggggggg*.
Despite the hot weather, some visitors to the waterfall even brought along tents! Happening la. I don't know how they can stand sitting inside the tent though coz I'll bet its warmer in there than it is out here.
Climb climb climb - and we came to yet another bridge. At this point, I was already half dead. What to do - out of shape mar :P
We found a nice spot to sit down at and I was just about to admire the scenery and all until I saw THIS little fella. That's gotta be the biggest ant I've ever seen. Just check out its butt - it's huge! I don't even dare to imagine what his bite would feel like.
Of the two burgers we brought up, Jasmine's burger's top bun decided to stick on to the roof of the box and refused to budge. Aiyo. The hazards of transporting food uphill, I tell you :P
The forest around us was really quite nice - you can hear the consistent buzzing of beetles, the chirping of birds. Various sounds of the forest. I call them jungle music :)
It was a nice 2 hour getaway. Wish I had a hammock though :P In a peaceful little environment like that, taking a nap in a hammock tied to trees as old as time would've been absolutely lovely.
Until of course, some bugs the size of baby elephants fall on me...but let's not go there, shall we?
