He was a rather scruffy looking man, who smoked like there was no tomorrow and didn't have a mole with hair coming out of it.

The last thing he looked like, was a fortune teller.

Strangely enough though, he exuded an aura of confidence over what he's doing, that's kinda hard to ignore. You know when a person does something and is very sure of himself over it. He was that sort of person.

I watched as his pen flew across the paper, writing what seemed like alien characters to me because I couldn't read chinese. He paused on and off to ask me details like my birthdate, time of birth, and then continued to write. He paused occassionally to flip through 3 different thick books and when he was done, the assessment he conveyed to me was at the same time news, and yet not news. I don't know how to describe it.

So this was what it was like to go see a chinese fortune teller.

If you're wondering why I was running around town trying to find that coconut husk bracelet, he is the reason why lah. He told me that life at the moment seemed full of turmoil and perhaps wearing a bracelet like that could put some semblance of calm back into my life.

He told me a lot of things that surprised me but at the same time didn't come as that big a shock. They were possible, and yet, unknown to me until now. Strange.

I had an interest experience seeing this fortune teller man. And I am, of course, very grateful for that friend who took the trouble to bring me there :) I like this fortune teller guy. He dispenses information in a no-holds barred, in-your-face manner. Heavens, but I've even got him saved in my GPS, just in case I want to go back and look for him again hehehe.

I wonder if what he taught me will work...hmm.....
